Hi, I’m Desiree Mensah (she/her), and I am deeply passionate about supporting you in reconnecting with your true self. I specialize in helping clients navigate relationships, attachment patterns, anxiety, mood concerns, and stress — especially for people who are used to being the strong one, the caretaker, or the one who “holds it together.” Together, we’ll explore what’s been shaping your experiences, build insight into your patterns, and develop tools that help you feel more grounded, self-aware, and emotionally secure.
I’m especially passionate about supporting the BIPOC community and clients from cultures where mental health isn’t always openly talked about. I strive to provide care that honors your cultural identity, lived experiences, and strengths. My hope is that therapy feels not only supportive, but empowering — helping you reclaim your narrative and move toward a life that feels deeply fulfilling and aligned.
About Desiree
About My Approach
At the heart of human experience lies connection. We are shaped by our earliest bonds, which serve as the blueprint for how we see ourselves, relate to others, and navigate the world. When these early bonds are inconsistent, neglectful, or painful, they can leave lasting attachment wounds. These wounds can create patterns, known as attachment styles, that profoundly influence our sense of self-worth, emotional regulation, and ability to trust.
I believe healing begins in safe, supportive relationships. Through the therapeutic process, I help you to uncover and understand your attachment histories, and most importantly, create new, secure experiences that foster trust, connection, and self-compassion. Therapy becomes a space for corrective emotional experiences—where old patterns are gently challenged, and healthier ways of relating are born. With time, this helps with internalizing a more secure sense of self, having more authentic relationships, emotional resilience, and lasting mental well-being.
